Our pharma acetates are used in the production of insulin (sodium acetate and sodium phenoxy acetate, but also ammonium acetate, potassium acetate and zinc acetate).
Some of our acetates play an important role as a buffer regulator of the pH level in dialysis solutions (such as sodium acetate, sodium diacetate, magnesium acetate and potassium acetate).
API in phosphate binders
Calcium acetate is an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) in phosphate binders, which are used in the treatment of hyperphosphatemia to reduce the absorption of phosphate into the human body.
Other pharmaceutical applications
Other applications are the production of penicillin as antibiotics, hormones, enzymes, oral cleanser to treat breath odor and veterinary medical products.
