Available grades and packaging Progusta Potassium Acetate/Diacetate
Progusta PA (potassium acetate) complies to the EU-legislation (E261i) and the JECFA (WHO). It is not mentioned in the FCC and Japanese Standards of Food Additives but is approved as a flavoring agent.
Progusta PD (potassium diacetate) is approved in the EU under the same E-number (E261ii) as potassium acetate. In the US, potassium diacetate is approved as an antimicrobial in various meat and poultry products (FSIS 7120.1).
Progusta PA and Progusta PD are stable for 2 years from date of production. Physical stability and appearance may change before the end of shelf-life if not stored single-stacked in well closed original packaging, dry and at room temperature.
Both products are hygroscopic and will absorb water from the air if not stored in air tight packaging. Whenever storing opened bags, please make sure that they are properly closed to prevent wetting or lumping of the product.

Progusta PA has no classification.
Progusta PD has been labeled with hazard statement H318 (causes serious eye damage). Whenever using these products, always check the Safety Data Sheet and label before use.
