Applications

NIAPROOF Anionic Surfactant 4 has the following common applications:

Textile Processing / Desizing - Improves the efficiency of desizing agents.

Household & Industrial Cleaners / Wallpaper Penetrant - Use to eliminate much of the work involved in scrubbing or wallpaper removal.

Metal Processing / Cleaning - Coupled with alkali, produces a surface cleaner that works more rapidly that alkali alone, providing a thoroughly clean surface suitable for for plating or spraying. Also used as a degreaser and scum protectant.

Electrolytic Cleaning - Decreases the surface tension of the electrolytic solution to allow for the release of the hydrogen byproduct.

Plating - Eliminates impurity pitting by dissolving without haze while decreasing the surface tension of the bath.

Pickling - Reduces the amount of acid required for pickling while decreasing pickling time and providing a more uniform pickling solution

Molding - Decreases mulling time and provides more uniform sized sand for use in casting molds and cores

Pharmaceuticals - Enhances bactericidal properties of antiseptics, rapid fixing of histological specimens

Welding - Used with phosphoric and chromic acid to etch metal in preparation for welding, providing easier flow of welding metals. Frequently used as a component of welding fluxes.

Textile Dying - Rapid and level dying (including densely packed materials and leather) are provided by uniform penetration.

Rubless Polishes - less time and effort are needed to ensure a uniform product. Dried film of this polish has a good luster and is more even than the film of the polish made by traditional methods.

Carbonizing - Carbonization is achieved in less time with less damage to the wool.

Kier Boiling - Used to offset alkali in kier boiling operations.

Latex Preparations - Excellent emulsifying properties combined with moderate tolerance for pigments & hard water. Preferred emulsifier for the polymerization of acrylic ester monomers and vinyl esters of higher fatty acids.
